Ignite Social Justice Conference Logo
The Ignite Conference is a leadership and social justice program for student leaders at CU Boulder. I was asked by colleagues in the Center for Inclusion & Social Change to create a logo for the conference.
The final design is featured here. To learn more about the design process, read on.
The final logo.
Design Brief + Concepts
I met with the conference organizers to get an idea of their vision. They wanted a logo that leaned into the imagery of the “ignite” title. Words brought up included “lightning, fire, spark, sunrise, and a filling gauge.” I developed several options that played with those ideas and images.
Feedback, Experiments + Final Choice
The organizers reviewed these options. They noted their favorites (1 and 3) and asked to see color versions. They also requested that we try combining some elements of the different designs. I added color and experimented with combining the requested elements, adjusting art line styles to fit with the logo text. In the end, the organizers chose logo #1, their initial favorite.
